After a couple of years of lockdowns we decided we wanted to travel again and went to South Africa in July 2022. The sun was setting and we were not far from getting back to the lodge. We parked the Land Rover in a valley with a ridge ahead. For some time, nothing. Then the Rhino appeared from the right and slowly walked left. I waited until he was in the middle and pressed the shutter.

This photograph was taken in the forests of Romania, with the bear cubs being in the wild, in their natural habitat. The photo was taken in the evening, in a specially arranged spot in the forest where they are fed daily by forestry workers, allowing them to be seen in all their splendor. However, they are wild animals, and approaching or interacting with them is not recommended. The equipment used was a Nikon Z6II with a Nikon 300mm F2.8 Nanocrystal.

Be observant and you never know what you may discover! With Buff Tip Moths being notorious for disguising as birch twigs. I managed to walk past this one numerous times, until I finally realised it was in fact a moth not a twig! They are a very common species of Moth in the UK and it appears, just outside my flat, that we have an abundance, which weren't present last year. They are often seen between May - June and have a wingspan of 4.4 - 6.8cm.

It was nothing but grey skies and rain for days on end, but I decided that you don't always need epic sunsets for great photos. The dull weather also allowed me to get a 20 second exposure with an ND1000 filter giving that classic wispy water look. A wide angle lens allowed me to get nice and close and emphasize the subject, being that close also meant there was some close calls with the occasional freak wave coming up to where I had my tripod and me running back up the beach to escape them

As if Mother Nature decided that the colours were not enough and returned with these extraordinary after colours!I was a bit wavering that afternoon looking at those thick clouds building up but then a gap in those clouds made for a colour burst producing a sunset that has by far been one of the best in this year I have seen!
